Achievements of CSVC-USA
Since its founding, the Coalition of Sudanese Victim Communities in the USA has made significant strides in empowering Sudanese survivors, uniting diaspora communities, and amplifying the voices of victims of state violence and marginalization. Our achievements reflect a deep commitment to justice, dignity, and strategic action.
Our Key Achievements
Survivor Testimonies and Documentation
- 1,350+ survivor testimonies collected and archived from victims of atrocities in Darfur, Nuba Mountains, Blue Nile, and Abyei.
- Created a digital archive and oral history initiative to preserve voices and evidence for truth-telling and transitional justice efforts.
National Unity and Coalition Building
- Formed a national coalition structure with 23 active chapters across U.S. states and diaspora regions.
- Convened four inter-regional summits to bridge divides and foster unity among historically fragmented communities.
Youth and Women Empowerment
- Launched the Youth Leadership & Advocacy Fellowship, training over 25 Sudanese-American youth in civic engagement, human rights, and public policy.
- Facilitated programs for 118 Sudanese women, including trauma healing circles, leadership workshops, and GBV awareness campaigns.
Legal and Humanitarian Support
- Provided emergency relief assistance to more than 410 individuals, including food, housing, legal referrals, and counseling for asylum seekers and refugees.
- Partnered with pro bono legal networks to assist 62 survivors with asylum applications and legal documentation.
Advocacy and Global Engagement
- Organized 28 advocacy events including Congressional briefings, UN side events, public rallies, and policy forums.
- Collected over 5,800 petition signatures demanding international accountability for war crimes and protection for Sudanese victims.
Educational Support and Scholarship
- Provided 36 educational scholarships to orphaned and displaced students in the U.S. and East Africa.
- Launched the "Future Bank Initiative" to equip youth with transformative knowledge as a form of reparative investment.
Partnership and Visibility
- Formed partnerships with 10+ human rights organizations, universities, and diaspora networks.
- Featured in international media and policy briefings, raising awareness of the ongoing plight and demands of Sudanese victim communities.
Capacity Building and Organizational Growth
- Developed a comprehensive governance structure including advisory councils, regional taskforces, and standing committees.
- Built internal systems for monitoring, documentation, and impact reporting to ensure transparency and effectiveness.
