Coalition Charter & Foundational Statement
The promulgation of Coalition Charter aims to declare the foundation, principles, and commitments of CSVC-USA. This document serves as the guiding framework for our organization's mission, vision, and values.
Charter of the Coalition of Sudanese Victim Communities in the USA (CSVC-USA)
Adopted on August 20, 2022, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
We, the Sudanese victim communities in the United States, survivors of genocide, war, state oppression, and human rights abuses, come together in common cause to affirm our dignity, seek justice, and restore hope for all victims and their descendants.
We declare this Charter as the foundational document of the Coalition of Sudanese Victim Communities in the USA (CSV-USA), committed to uniting voices, healing wounds, and transforming pain into purpose.
The name of this organization shall be the Coalition of Sudanese Victim Communities in the USA (CSVC-USA). It shall serve as a national, survivor-led, non-profit coalition.
A united Sudanese diaspora empowered to pursue justice, preserve memory, and foster healing and reconciliation across generations and borders.
To advocate for accountability and dignity for all Sudanese victims of violence, and to mobilize survivors and allies for collective healing, empowerment, and policy change.
We uphold the right to truth, accountability, and legal redress.
We bridge regional, ethnic, and generational divides.
We honor trauma and create safe spaces for recovery.
We raise survivor voices through leadership and education.
We work across borders with all oppressed and displaced peoples.
CSV-USA shall:
- Create inclusive platforms for all Sudanese victim communities.
- Document stories of survival and resistance.
- Influence domestic and international policy for Sudanese justice.
- Build strategic alliances with justice-seeking organizations.
- Support youth and women as key leaders of transformation.
This Charter shall guide all organizational development, partnership engagement, and public advocacy. It shall be reviewed every five (5) years by the General Assembly.
